Burgemeester Rasterhoffpark

Burgemeester Rasterhoffpark, or simply Rasterhoffpark, is the largest nature park in the southern part of Sneek, and Hotel Sneek is directly located next to this beautiful park. The park is bordered to the north and east by the A7, to the south by 'de Witte en de Zwarte Brekken,' and to the west by 'de Woudvaart.'

The park features paths, bridges, and a large boardwalk (knuppelpad). You’ll find small lakes in the park, perfect for a peaceful walk or a relaxing picnic. Scottish Highland cattle and roe deer roam freely in this area. There are also several play areas and a gnome trail for children. At the top of the hill, there’s a water sculpture, offering a beautiful view of the nature reserve "de Witte en de Zwarte Brekken."

The nature reserve was created by combining the city forest, established in the 1980s, with the redevelopment of a former landfill site and an old sand excavation.
